HON TAJUDDEEN ABBAS: A BEACON OF LEADERSHIP IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

  


On behalf of the good people of Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency, i extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hon Tajuddeen Abbas on his well-deserved appointment as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th Assembly. This prestigious position is a testament to his unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership skills, and remarkable achievements in the field of politics.


Hon Abbas's journey in politics began in 2010 when he decided to serve the people by contesting for the House of Representatives seat in 2011. His victory in the elections marked the start of a remarkable career dedicated to legislative excellence and the pursuit of the people's welfare.


During his tenure in the 8th Assembly, Hon Abbas's commitment to public service was evident through his remarkable sponsorship of the highest number of bills. His tireless efforts resulted in an unprecedented 74 bills, out of which 21 were successfully signed into law between 2019 and 2023. This impressive track record showcases his ability to translate ideas into impactful legislation.


Furthermore, Hon Abbas's extensive experience in various committees, including Commerce, Finance, Special Duties, Defence, Public Procurement, and National Planning and Economic Development, exemplifies his versatile and comprehensive approach to governance. His previous role as the House Committee Chairman for Land Transport highlights his commitment to addressing crucial infrastructure challenges in the nation.


Before his foray into politics, Hon Abbas had a distinguished career as a primary school teacher and later as a lecturer at Kaduna State University. He also garnered valuable experience in the private sector as a Marketing Manager at the Nigerian Tobacco Distribution Company.


As a prince from Zazzau Emirates, Zaria, Kaduna State, Hon Abbas brings a rich cultural heritage and a deep understanding of his constituents' needs. His title of Iyan Zazzau further underscores his esteemed position within the community.


We commend Hon Tajuddeen Abbas for his remarkable achievements and pledge our support to his vision of a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria. Under his leadership, we are confident that the House of Representatives will continue to make significant strides in advancing the nation's development.
